The ninth edition of the Donosti Masters Cup will start this afternoon at 17.00h at the Puio field. In this new edition, 80 teams from 8 different countries will participate, which is a new historical record for this event that combines sport and tourism. This year Portugal and Switzerland will participate for the first time in the tournament, and Spain, France, Netherlands, UK, Mexico, Panama and Argentina will repeat their participation. It is worth mentioning that this will be the first time that there will be female representation from the other side of the ocean. The Mexican club "Tijuana Masters" and the Panamanian club "Panama Legend", who already visited us in the last edition, will participate in this edition with a male and a female team. At the national level, there will be teams from different communities, with Euskadi, Madrid and Catalunya contributing the most teams. There will also be representation of teams from Navarra, La Rioja, Aragon, Valencia, Canary Islands and Asturias. As for the local participants, Eibar, Hondarribi and Real Union, start as favorites in the categories +35, +45 and +50 respectively. In the women's category, 5 clubs will participate: Eibar, Tijuana Mexico, Panama Legends, Oiarzun and Dumboa. All the matches in this category will be played at the renovated Cesar Benito field, home of Intxaurdi, the only exclusively female club in Gipuzkoa.

The tournament, which will be played under the 7-a-side soccer modality, has 3 male categories, over 35, 45 and 50 years old, and 1 female category, over 30 years old. The matches will start on Friday afternoon at the Puio field from 17.00h to 20:00h. On Saturday morning the range of fields will be opened up to seven fields: Berio, Puio, Martutene, César Benito, Hernani, Jesús Mari Zamora (Rentería), and Beraun. The final phase and the finals of each category will be played in four fields: Berio, Puio, Martutene and César Benito. Within the program of activities it is necessary to emphasize the closing Gala that will take place on Saturday night in the Miramar Palace. The teams will take advantage of the weekend to visit the city and enjoy the magnificent local gastronomy.
